heron in
its nest
knowing
the stillness of sticks
I watch
that
luminous stone in the moss
is a
small bird’s egg
seven-petalled
star
unfolding
overnight —
who sees
the sepals drop?
arum at
the edge of the lake
give way
to water lilies
